Some thoughts about parking on a public road

I do use my motorbike for commuting and pleasure for five years by now. Unfortunately as I live in a flat, I do not have a driveway, or a garage, not even a motorbike parking spot near me, I have to keep the bike on a small road among cars for the night. In the past five years it had been knocked over four times. It is not a pleasant feeling when you find your bike on its side at the morning and you have to lift it up. So if you want to save yourself from this feeling (and some money as well), keep your bike safe on your driveway or in a garage, but if you cannot, like me, there are still some ways to reduce the risk. On my the road where I keep the bike, there are driveways with white lines in front of them, so nobody should park there. The best is to find a parking spot between these white lines that is very short, so a car cannot fit in it. If there is no spot like that, find a spot that is long enough only for one car. If you park in front of or behind that car, the driver will not have to make tight maneuvers to come out of the spot as due to the white lines no one should park in front or behind spot. He just need to reverse, or move forward depending on the location of your bike.
